The Business Case for Equality
The emphasis placed on Equality is changing. The traditional reactive
emphasis is now giving way to a more proactive approach looking at the
benefits and the business case. The real business case has to be about
opportunity and not threat
Equality thinking can actually improve efficiency, assist service
delivery and enhance performance. It makes sound commercial sense.
Making the case for the positive impact of Equality is still in its
early stages.
The two major obstacles within organisations to equality tend to be
difficulties in changing the culture of an organisation and a lack of
awareness of Equality Policies.
Ultimately the challenge of both Equality and Diversity is how
organisations include and use the complexity and differences of the
human family for productive goals whilst ensuring the proper nourishment
and growth of the individual.
