Competency based interview questions are used to make the
interview process as fair as possible. Essentially the
process assists the interviewer in assessing the competency
levels of a potential employee.
A series of questions are targeted at each skill required to achieve
effective job performance. Every job will have a set of key competencies
which are necessary to do the job properly.
When you are preparing for a competency based interview the experienced
interviewer will draw up a list of questions relating to each competency
all directed towards ascertaining if the candidate has the necessary
skills to do the job.
