ERB Monitor 12/2011
EDITORIAL
Welcome to the fourth and final ERB Monitor edition for 2011, the e-newsletter of the Community Sector Employers Forum (CSEF) keeping you informed on essential employment law issues. In this edition we look at some of the important HRM issues of the day which need to be considered by managers.
The first article looks at Employee Engagement and how developing a collaborative employee strategy can deliver real benefits to community sector organisations. It sets out the rules of engagement and outlines what steps need to be taken when implementing an effective employee engagement strategy.
The second article asks the difficult question; how should employers deal with an employee whose personal issues are affecting their performance at work.
The third article looks at the issue of retirement age and what the law says. It also looks at a case from the employment appeals tribunal from late 2010.
The fourth article outlines the main highlights in the annual report from the employment appeals tribunal for 2010.
